Founded by a Yorùbá Linguist, Cultural Enthusiast, and Storyteller, this platform was born from a personal journey – a calling to reconnect with roots and share that path with others around the world.
At One Yorùbá Girl Education, we understand the challenges of language loss, the struggle to reconnect, and the longing to embrace cultural identity. Through my academic journey in Linguistics and Yorùbá studies, alongside years of experience in cultural and literary spaces, I have crafted a space for learners and enthusiasts to explore Yorùbá language, tradition, and expression.

Before I joined Yoruba beginners class, I had a lot of questions on how Yoruba language is being spoken as regards to when translated from English to Yoruba. I can say a lot of this questions have been answered and clarified beyond my expectations. I will definitely recommend Mrs Morenikeji to anyone who wants to learn and speak the Yoruba language because she has helped in simplifying my knowledge of the Yoruba language.

Diacritics and tone marks had always been a big problem for me, despite being a native speaker and offering Yoruba language as a subject for over 10 years in school. Now I’m proud to say that I’m a pro at that topic, all thanks to your detailed and engaging teaching method. I was not so confident in my Yoruba speaking prior to beginning classes with OneYorubaGirl. I would often know what I wanted to say but lack the confidence and conviction to put myself out there. My Yoruba lessons with OneYorubaGirl have equipped me with the confidence and conviction to not only put myself out there and participate in Yoruba speaking, reading and writing but to also engage in everyday activities using Yoruba. Her patience and coaching has seen me excel in the last year or so I have been learning with her. I aim to be fully confident in my speaking by next year and thanks to OneYorubaGirl I am well on my way.

Before I started my Yorùbá lessons with Kéjì, I could not string coherent sentences in Yorùbá. Ṣùgbọ́n nísinsìnyí, mo lè sọ gbogbo nǹkan tí mo fẹ́ sọ pẹ̀lú ẹnikẹ́ni ní èdè Yorùbá. (But now, I can say all I want to say with anyone in Yorùbá language.) Kéjì’s lessons are really fun and truly educating. You should actually learn Yorùbá with Kéjì.
